Bilingual Talking Therapy

Our one-to-one talking therapy services is designed to meet the unique needs of and provide support for refugees and asylum seekers. Our team of bilingual, qualified practitioners come from diverse backgrounds and provide their services in a comfortable and culturally-sensitive environment.

In collaboration with Barnet ICB, we also provide community IAPT Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression to enhance the delivery of and access to evidence-based, NICE-recommended treatments. We strictly adhere to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines and operate within the framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring only the highest quality of counselling for refugees and asylum seekers who need additional support.

IAPT Psycho-Educational workshops

The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service, Step Two, offers low-intensity psychological support for individuals experiencing mild to moderate levels of depression and anxiety. We provide a variety of workshops covering topics such as PTSD, anger management, sleep management, panic and anxiety, dealing with grief, depression, coping with COVID, maintaining healthy relationships during COVID-19, and mindfulness practices.

These workshops aim to help our clients better understand and manage their mental health conditions, promoting overall well-being and resilience.

The Stay Project

The Stay Project is a London-wide partnership offering capacity-building and support for staff and volunteers working in suicide prevention services. The project brings together:

  • CB Plus – the lead organisation, delivering award-winning community infrastructure and development services across London.
  • London Nightline – providing over 50 years of overnight mental health and suicide support for students at London universities.
  • Listening Ear – delivering the Amparo service, offering emotional and practical support to people affected by suicide.
  • Grassroots Suicide Prevention – creators of the Stay Alive app, a respected suicide prevention tool.
  • New Citizens Gateway (NCG) – drawing on nearly 20 years of experience supporting refugees and asylum seekers.

We are proud to contribute its unique expertise to The Stay Project, bringing a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. Through this partnership, we aim to build resilience, promote wellbeing, and ensure that frontline staff in suicide prevention are equipped with the skills, resources, and support they need.
