Conor Doyle

I come from the Republic of Ireland, and for the last 30 years, have made my home in the UK. I believe in a world that embraces diversity and provides equal opportunities for all to live in peace and to prosper. I strongly believe that all young people should be given equal chances to develop and make the best use of the qualities they were born with and the skills they acquired, irrespective of their background.

I am a qualified chemical engineer and have recently retired, after a career of 35 years in leadership and management roles in global engineering and construction companies. In these roles, I witnessed first hand the strength that lies in diverse and inclusive groups and the importance of taking care of and developing our young people.

I now commit a significant proportion of my time to voluntary work with the New Citizens’ Gateway (NCG) as well as an Enterprise Mentor with The Prince’s Trust. At NCG, I help with fundraising and have the privilege of being one of the Trustees, responsible for strategy and governance. I am very proud to be part of an organisation that embraces people of all cultures and aims to help rebuild lives that have been devastated by war or persecution. It is our privilege to welcome and support these people, and together to work towards a richer and more inclusive society.
